The trinity is really difficult to get a grasp on and I don't think that anyone will ever really get it until we die. My understanding is that while God is ONE in substance, He has THREE parts, each playing three roles. Jesus, while on Earth, submitted to God the Father. His life was to quench the wrath of God against our sin so that we may be brought close to Him having been forgiven. The Holy Spirit's job is to snap people out of their self absorbed existence and bring them back to a right relationship with God. So when Jesus prayed to God He did so to set an example for His followers and to submit to God the Father.
ALSO
Praying is simply talking to God. It doesnt have to be some ritualistic thing you do. Seeing that praying is talking to God, it becomes a little more understandable. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, whom Isaiah said was a man aquainted with grief and sorrow in this life. Well, doesnt it seem likely that the Son of God would want to talk to most of all His Father "which art in heaven". So of course He prayed (spoke with His Father-God) all the time. When you are away from home for a long time, don't you miss mom or dad, and long to speak with them from time to time? Its the same way with Christ. There really is nothing mysterious about that. I am assuming your question means why did He pray to God (the most likely), if it is pray FOR God, then we are discussing something enitirely different!
He prayed by talking to his Heavenly Father the Lord our God.
God. Jesus is the intercessor. We pray in the name of Jesus under the unction (or leading) of the Holy Spirit to God the Father. they is only one god and he answers your prayer jesus was the ways in his words is what we are to live by so live by what jesus say as he was not god his is the word
Yes he did. He prayed to his father god to forgive the people who were crucifying him
Prayer is communication between us and God, He was being an example to us and talking with his father.
It is simply the way we Christians refer to God when we pray, I usually say Dear Heavenly father and so on. The Lords prayer was Jesus teaching us how to pray, we say God is the father, Jesus the son and then there's the holy spirit. So God is our father in Heaven
Jesus was God in form of man....he already knew how to pray....
God.
Jesus taught us to pray...our Father who art in heaven... If Jesus prayed to the Father then it should be ok for you too.
God his father.
It's jesus
God, Jesus, Mary (Jesus' mother) and the 12 disciples (but we pray to God and Jesus).
No, Catholics do not pray to statues. Catholics pray to God, Jesus, and ask Saints to pray for them.
It is a connection to God. Christians worship God, cry out to God, pray out loud to God, and they pray in Jesus name.
If Jesus is god and equal to the god of the Hebrews, then he will not pray to himself. His family being Jewish may probably pray in the Mosque or a small altar inside their house.
Yes. It is OK to pray to Jesus Christ. And when you pray to his father God, you are praying to him, because he said: "I and the Father are one."
Jesus is GOD so when you pray, pray through Christ Jesus so that your prayers may be heard. no other way but the Jesus. repent from your sins, accept him as your lord and saviour then, you are saved Answer Jesus is a God in his own right. When we pray we pray to the Father through Jesus Christ who is our medieator between us and God the Father. With the kindest respect to the first to answer, we are saved after all we can do in righteousness. We are not saved by God's grace but by our own effort here on earth. A sinner cannot be saved by grace alone. He must repent and sin no more. Niether will a death bed confession save us for we will have no time to do good works and prove our worth.
Jesus's first teacher was his mother, Mary. She would have taught him about their faith, traditions, and provided him with moral guidance as he grew up.
