Did you check the coolant level. There is a range where you will loose heat but yet not overheat the engine. If that is okay, then start by making sure that the thermostat is okay. If it is stuck open during cooler temps, it is possible to get nearly cold air. Many cars (I'm sure yours included) have a water valve located in the heater hose usually not too far from the firewall. The valve are known to fail by either the valve sticking, or the rubber in the valve swelling and completely blocking water passage. It is not very likely for the heater core to become so badly blocked as to get only cold air, but if that were the case you could tell by feeling hoses going to the heater core. One would be hot and the other would be cold. This would also be the case if the valve is not allowing water passage.
1) blend door actuator motor has failed2) a broken blend door itselfHope it's #1 as that's cheap and easy.See "Related Questions" below for more about each
if the compressor is running and it is still blowing hot air i would have to say that the blend door is not operating properly. if the blend door is stuck open then the air is still blowing across the heater core and into the cabin. replacing the motor that controls the blend door will most likely fix this problem
I believe you are looking for blend door actuator???
The motor which blows air through the vents.
Your not going to like this, some blend door motors were not assembled correctly the worm gear in the housing is jammed and won't let the motor turn, all you can do is replace it again.
There are two Blend Door motors. One each on the left and right side of the heater box located in the center of the dash. If one side is blowing hot air, it probably has a broken gear in the motor on that side.
No such part on a Town and Country. There is a blend air motor under the dash that controls the heater output.
Do you already have the old one out?
it could be your fan motor is going to go
the temp. motor is on the passenger side behind the glove box. remove glove box, look left toward center of car.the temp motor has three screws and is mounted on heater box.
this could be one or two things. your blend door motor or your heater core if its is your heater core check inside passenger side floor for coolant if not its blend door motor part is about 60 bucks but cost alot to get put in by dealer!!!!
There is no heater fuse, the heater works by having hot coolant run threw a heater core that's inside the dash, then when you turn the heat on, the blower motor blows threw the heater core, sending the hot air inside the vehicle.
