Well, they can't make you pay for something that doesn't exist. Chances are they will find it. I am assuming you had your copy? If you had your copy, they might just make you pay it, but really, I think they will dismiss it.
Answer I'm a police officer in California and there have been times where I've misplaced completed citations or have had a change of heart and decided to void out the citation. These events could have happened also. So if the court has no record of it, then you're pretty much off the hook.

If the officer does not appear when required, the citation is usually dismissed. But the officer is not always required.
You can make a motion for dismissal but the judge will likely deny it unless you have an attorney. They can make you come back again.
Yes, but the fact that it was dismissed will also appear.
you go to jai.
Then why did you add it to the Traffic Violation and Ticket category? If it is not a traffic violation then it is most likely a minor misdemeanor offense. A misdemeanor is a crime, therefore, it WILL show up on your adult criminal record.
The fact that you were arrested, the charge, AND the fact that it was dsimissed WILL appear (unless expunged).

Failure to appear for traffic court
If the box "Accordingly this action is dismissed for lack of prosecution" is checked on a notice of lack of prosecution, it means that the case is being dismissed because there has been no progress or activity in the case for a certain period of time. This typically occurs when the parties involved fail to move the case forward or take necessary actions within a specified timeframe.
Ordinarily, the case will be dismissed. The onus is upon the Plaintiff to move the case along and meet a burden of proof. If he/she/it does not appear, that cannot be done. Likewise, if the Defendant does not appear, no defense to the action can be asserted. Therefore, the case will be dismissed.
Vehicle code 40508 VC is a failure to appear in court on a traffic citation. It is a misdemeanor under California law and has a statute of limitations of one year from the date of the infraction.
