Yes.
Hydrocodone is a synthetic derivative of codeine. It does not contain the actual substance.
I would also add that in my experience, the nausea seen with use of codeine is rarely seen with hydrocodone.
That really depends on what is meant by an allergy. It is not unlikely that you will have a similar reaction to hydrocodone as you had to codeine but you may not.
So if you had a true allergy to codiene like hives, chest tightness, throat swelling, wheezing etc then you should be very cautious. if you just had an adverse reaction to codiene such as nausea, drowsiness or skin itching then it would be reasonable to try the hydrocodone and see what happens.
no, hydrocodone and loratab has the same compounds as codiene but a couple times stronger. they both carry some of the same ingredients. People who are allergic to hydrocodone are usually prescribed oxycodone (percocet) or hydromorphone.
Can I take morphine if allergic to codeine
It's likely, but not guaranteed, that being allergic to codeine will make you allergic to hydrocodone also.

Absolutely! Hydrocodone is synthetic Codeine will put me in ER in minutes, no anaphylaxis but unbearable pain, while NO problems with hydrocodone I wish I knew why
No hydrocodone is an extract of codeine
Nope. vicodin contains hydrocodone wich is an extract of codeine
Yes, doctors and healthcare professionals often times prescribe Oxycodone (Percocet) to patients who are allergic to Codeine/Hydrocodone.
if by hydroco you mean hydrocodone, then yes and no. Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid that is made FROM codeine. Hydrocodone does not metabolize into codeine frome what ive read. If you are allergic to codeine then you will probably be allergic to hydrocodone too. If youre trying to pass a UA then you should be ok as most urine tests that test for opiates only test for morphine and codeine; neither of which are metabolites of hydrocodone. If you're looking to treat pain, then keep in mind that hydrocodone is stronger than codeine.
Probably not. Check with your doctor.
Hydrocodone is an extract of codeine, so they are the same. You just have to take more hydrocodone
Lortab is identical to Vicodin - it is a combination of hydrocodone and paracetomol (acetaminophen). If you are truly diagnosed allergic to Codeine (hydrocodone), you should not take it. Allergy to acetaminophen is extremely rare.
if your allergic to vicoden can you take percocet?
I am allergic to morphine as well. I can take Vicodin, Lortab, Norco etc, but at higher doses (10mg or above) I do sometimes get very slight hives on my face, but not like with morphine. Anything 10mg and below and I've had no problem. That is just my experience. That being said, I cannot take oxycodone, Percocet or any of it's derivatives as it causes MAJOR hives, itching, burning sensation, and respiratory distress. Hope this helps.
No, because Vicodin contains hydrocodone plus acetaminophen.
Yes
No. Hydrocodone and Codeine are two separate drugs with different chemical makeups.
I believe you mean "Oxycodone" which is the generic name for Percocet or Tylox. My doctors know I am allergic to codeine; but subscribe Oxycodone, which has codeine, but so does percocet. I am waiting for pharmacist to call me know to let me know if it has the same amount. Percocet does not bother my stomach but Oxycodone does.
