Sounds like there is trouble in paradise. Doesn't sound like a solid relationship to me, so I think you should move on.
Sometimes we tend to stick with what we know best (becomes a habit and a way of life) and I feel you may well be in this life's role. Don't be afraid to spread your wings and meet and date other people.
Ask yourself about how you feel about this relationship. If the person is lazy and refuses to work, or further his/her trade or career, then I would move on.
If they disrespect you, call you names, put you down in front of family or friends or even shove you around ... move on!
If this person never wants to do things you do and it's all about him/her, move on!
If they forget special events or they don't turn up for a special meal you have cooked, or forget to meet you somewhere ... move on!
If children are involved, think very carefully, but realize that if you are in an abusive relationship you are not doing your children any favors. It's time to move on and start a new life. Relationships have the up side and down side, but I can tell if it's working by realizing that my husband and I (no matter how tough something is) back each other 100% and we feel like we can conquer the world and that nothing terrible can happen to us if we stick together.
Good luck Happy New Year Marcy
