well it can be like any other cough when u have a fever you may cough but you can tell your Doctor to run some test they will swab your mouth and run test it happen to me to but they told me i didn't had h1n1(thank goodness)
You would have to have been given a nasal swab , which would be tested for the virus. Unless you are still sheding the virus, there is no way to determine if you had H1N1, seasonal flu, or any other virus that causes flu like symptoms.
The symptoms of a common cold and influenza (including H1N1) are similar. Usually if you have a high fever it is more likely the flu than a cold.
To know for sure which it is, you would need an exam by your health care professional and/or some testing to determine precisely what organisms may be present that are causing your symptoms. However, colds and flu are both usually treated symptomatically, cough medicine for coughs, fever reducers for fever, etc. So knowing exactly which you have is usually not important in knowing how to treat it, unless you have complications and require hospitalization.
