Select the media clip - drag the Horizontal transparent level line down until you get the transparent you want.

use the sony explorer window to find sound clip - drag and drop. You can also use windows explore to view and play - then drag sound clip into your project file for better render times!
That I know of there is only one way. Right click on the clip you want to be one half of the screen and press pan/crop. Move it to the side you want it to be on and the size you want it. It will cut off half of the video, though. Do the same to the next clip, and move it to the other side.
well ill tell you what i did to fix this problem. i took the specific clip, put it in windows movie maker then published the clip after i put it in the timeline. after the publishing was done i found the movie i made in windows movie maker and put it in sony vegas and i worked
