On label "Screen saver" (the 3rd label, don't know how it's called exactly, as i don't use English XP) you can find a checkbox called password security or something similar. Check it out.
NB: If you use a remote desktop connection while the screen saver turns on, it will log out you allways!

Windows 8 has been specially designed for touch-screens. However, that doesn't mean that it won't do its job in mouse-keyboard hardware.
Use a software such as Awesome Logon Screen Changer, its available at http://danusoft.com/ and it comes with a preview screen of what your logon screen is going to look like, comes with a bunch of presets, and lets you revert your changes back to default. I've tested this on Windows Vista and 7, worked great.
This is caused when you install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 It creates a hidden username on your computer, ASPNET. Although you can't see it, windows is still asking you "which user do you want to log into?" when you turn your computer on, or recover from the screen saver. To correct this, download the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 from the Windows Update website, or you can do this workaround: Go to Start>Run Type in: control userpasswords2 and hit ok. At the top, uncheck "user must enter a user name and password to use this computer" and hit apply, and ok.

When you do have the taskbar on the screen, right-click on it, and slide down to "Properties". From the menu that comes up, click on "Keep the Taskbar on top of other windows".
Try inserting your XP cd and running a system repair.
If you have a windows system you can do it two ways. One way is to go into the picture files and delete all pics or you can go into appearance and hit screen saver tab. When that comes up you will see what is programmed as your screen saver and you can change that with the drop down menu there. Same with the desktop, but you go to the desktop tab to do it. The menu in both will give a listing of the screen savers/desktops you can choose from and you can also preview them before you hit the apply button. In the same appearance area you can also change colors, sounds, and fonts for the personalization of your computer.
