In fallout 3-Point lookout How do you get the key to the engine room on the boat if there is 1?

Well, there are two ways to go about doing this.
1.) Right off the bat, you can kill the boat captain and steal the key, but I don't recommend this, as it messes up the story arc.
2.) Complete the main storyline in Point Lookout. When you finish and head back to the boat, the girl will be waiting, telling you that the captain is in the engine room. You then enter the room and kill him. But be prepared. It's kind of freaky in there...

∙ 14y agoafter you meet the girl you were supposed to find (she is in the ark and dove cathedral ) she says she will meet you at the dock go there in two days (wait 48 hours) and she will be there she will say "I found the guy who cut open our heads) it was the boat captain walk to the engine room it will be unlocked and the captain of the ship will say some stuff and will try to kill you kill him and go outside the girl will say its her ship now and will give you free rides on it back and forth from the wasteland. oh the engine room is full of jars with chunks of brain in it
