use an alarm and some variables.
when the person picks up the powerupt, have the powerup =1 or whatever, bu also have an alarm triggered to. If u wanted it to last for 5 seconds, set alarm 1 for 150 (30 = 1 second)
then go into alarm 1 and have the variable Powerup go back to =0.
