No, Cambodia is certainly not a horrible place to live, and, while the climate is difficult to get used to for those who are not used to Southeast Asia, Cambodia is a place of extraordinary beauty and the home to a charming and gracious people, who now number about 14,000,000 and have had to endure some horrible recent history that is now fading into the past. Tourism, especially to the capital city of Phnom Penh and to the many temples of Siem Reap's Angkor Wat, is skyrocketing, with more than two million people a year coming to visit Angkor Wat.

The Southwest monsoon blows from May to October, bringing something like 70% of the year's rain, and making travel on the dirt roads of the northern and rural provinces difficult, and causing precipitation about two thirds of the time.

The dry season of the Northeast Monsoon comes from October to April, when the weather becomes scorching and dry. April is extremely warm, getting up to 35 degrees centigrade and staying there. Most pleasant are the temperatures of November through January, probably. The people are always wonderful, so the idea that Cambodia is a horrible place to live is certainly not true.
