Caracas itself is not directly on the coast. You have to go a little bit to the north (15 km) to get to the coast and then you'll be in the Vargas state which is on the coast of the Caribbean Sea.
Trinidad was once part of Venezuela many centuries ago. Due to geological shifts in the earth, it is proven that Trinidad was once part of Venezuela. The country shares similar climate, flora and fauna. Today Trinidad is approximately 6 or 7 miles from Venezuela and the countries engage in a lot of trade as well as other Latin American countries. Trinidad is also a door for many Latin Americans to learn English, so the Latin American population is growing here. This is also another reason why the Government of Trinidad & Tobago is in the process of implementing Spanish as a second language here( and if Spain didn't relinquish control of Trinidad & Tobago to Britain, the country would still be speaking Spanish today.)
