The Samsung Galaxy Note blends both a smartphone as well as a tablet, which has since coined the phrase "phablets" for phones of this size (5.29 inch display on the Note on up). It comes with an "S Pen" stylus and can be utilized at its fullest extent on apps that are especially configured for it, and the Note has handwriting recognition just for this stylus. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is more a traditional smartphone, but one that is more a pure Android phone by Google. Unlike the Note, the Nexus has stock Android OS on board, with no custom manufacturer overlay (TouchWiz), and a small amount (if any) of carrier apps installed. Updates to the OS would arrive sooner on this phone over the Note.
