depends on what your using it for, for simple uses, i say windows 8 because it comes with a great microsoft office, social media, and a ton of neat mini features. BUt with gaming i say 7, although windows 8 runs games better, windows 7 is more conveniet when it comes to installing games and finding things and a whole lot easier to find programs without having to sign up fpr anything at all like 8. plus because its older, its less buggy and crashy which sometimes happens in the new windows 8. i hope this helped you

∙ 8y agoA lot of people dislike Windows 8, and are trying to avoid it, often by using Windows 7 instead. In fact, Windows 8.0 was such a flop that Microsoft had to create 8.1, in which they fixed some bugs, and put back the start menu. 8.1 has been met with better success, but people still don't like the "tablet" style system, or the greater internet dependence as much. For this reason, Windows 10 is said to be more the "desktop" style again, like Windows 7 was. Windows 8 does definitely have greater hardware requirements, also, which make older machines perform more slowly. This also tends to make games and videos run more slowly, even on a new PC, but especially on an old one.

You need to try both by going to a store like "Best Buy" or going to "Wal-mart" that has computers on display for you to try out. Now once you tried both (Which i recommend you to try them both out for a 10 minute- 20 minute trial) out, you can know which is better. But in my opinion, i have windows 7, but since Windows 8 is new, its probably more advance, which results, Windows 8, is better.
