Alligators are close carnivorous cousins to the crocodile who is considerably larger and has a nastier aggressive nature. 'Gators' , in comparison, have elongated snouts and are generally green in color. 'Crocks' have broader heads (like cobras compared to their kin) and are generally brown in color. Both have been around for about 150 million years so they dined well on dinosaurs for nearly a hundred million years. One word of advice. Stay well clear of both. They can all run at about three times your best speed.
