Fission is not an invention. Fission is a natural process, and its functioning is not subject to change.
The only materials ordinarily found in nature that undergo fission are various isotopes of uranium. The neutrons released from this process occasionally produce isotopes we usually regard as synthetic, but in such small amounts that for practical purposes they do not exist on earth. Some did, however, exist in the distant past, and probably still do in other parts of space.
Nevertheless, in connection with this question, it can be pointed out that people have studied a number of substances that can undergo fission that are only produced synthetically. While the functioning of fission is changeless, the understanding of fission changed substantially in the course of these investigations.
The first time a fission chain reaction was produced was in 1942
It wasn't invented. It's a natural process that was discovered in heavier elements.
fission is the splitting of atoms
Leo Szilard invented the fission bomb. Edward Teller invented the fusion bomb. Both were from Hungary.
because nuclear fusion is a possible reaction.because Stan Ulam & Edward Teller invented a mechanism for igniting uncontrolled nuclear fission using a separate nuclear fission bomb inside the same case. The first such device was the 1952 Ivy Mike cryogenic liquid hydrogen fueled test shot, yield 10MTons.
Same guy that invented RC Cola.
India's first test of a fission weapon was on May 18, 1974.
After the nuclear fission of uranium-235 many fission products (other elements) are formed.
The element first used for fission in an atomic bomb is uranium.
The equation E=mc2 he invented nuclear fission and many other things
For the same reasons as with other types of cars invented in the 1880s and 1890s.
driven at 1885, Not sure if it was invented in the same year though.
