Some people form relationships with transsexual persons and can't take it when they get sex reassignment surgery. They don't understand the difference between a non-op transgender person who is satisfied with their genitalia and a pre-op transsexual person who needs surgery to feel whole and complete. You might have a fetish for a female-presenting person with a penis, but a genuine transsexual person doesn't want it, and to love someone for something about them they hate and want gone means that you are not really loving them.
