No, not all metal music is violent. Yes, some can be, but there is also metal music that isn't violent at all. Just as you can find variations of almost everything, there's also variations of metal.. You can even find Christian metal with Christian lyrics that has no violent within.. So, while there IS metal music with violence and/or suicidal lyrics etc; there is also some that has none of that. This is a common misconception although, due to certain popular metal bands... So no worries! :)

Unfortunately, I doubt that any country today has a population that favors metal music over any other. The 2000s (and now 2010s) are the age of Pop and are now reviving forms of electronic, rap, and dance music. Metal music was most popular in the 60s-70s in the US and UK. Today, metal music has transformed and infuses different styles of music into it, such as hip-hop. It still remains somewhat popular in the US and UK.
