It is an online game, which means there are other players who can curse and describe violent and/or sexual situations (through text only). The text input of individual players can be manually blocked and a profanity filter will obscure most objectionable language, but it won't block everything.
The content of the game itself includes violence (largely bloodless but there are a few exceptions) and sexual references, but nothing explicit. Criminal and/or immoral behavior can be committed by the player during the game's multiple storylines (one for each base class); this behavior is usually condemned by the game's characters, but some find it acceptable or even enjoyable.
My personal recommendation is that you never let a 10-year-old use the internet without adequate supervision, game or not. The game content by itself warrants the Teen (13+) rating it received from the ESRB, but the potential for other players to effectively raise the rating shouldn't be discounted.

I don't think that LEGO Star Wars III would be suitable for a 5 year old since the game itself is rated 10+. The gameplay has an actual storyline that a 5 year old might not care about, but that is actually important to playing the game itself.
