AnswerThere have been no in-depth studies of the humpback dolphin, and so little is known about them. However, it is thought that in many areas where they once may have thrived, they are now rare or extinct.

The Pacific species, known as the Chinese White Dolphin (actually pink), was losing habitat as of the year 2000. Specifically, the population around the Pearl River Delta had dwindled to less than 200.
