Yes, it is. It is endangered because the cup that holds people broke down and now NONE can go onto the cup. (kinda looks like a wine glass) The UNited States paid billions to fix it. it's still not fully fixed. Many people drive around the Statue of Liberty which means it could cause some damage to the statue. The old monument can break down too. The stairs are many years old. One of them could break away. Hopefully the cup will break anymore. It broke to old age probably.

I take it that it has an internal steel framework. Presumably this is corroding badly. After all, it is surrounded by moist, salt-laden sea air. Might the copper cladding be exacerbating the corrosion by electrolysis? I will never see it but I do hope it can be repaired successfully. It will be tragedy for everyone, not just the USA, if your trade-mark statue were to collapse!
