From our perspective, it is not brighter. It is mostly the far side of the moon that is lit up, and it is bright there, but we cannot see it.
This would either be the full moon if you want to see certain parts or the crescent moon. This is because during a crescent moon, the part of the moon that is bright is slightly brighter than the moon during full moon.
the full moon is more closer to the sun than the half moon
It depends on the phases of the moon, e.g., a full moon will appear much brighter than a last quarter or first quarter moon.
We see more of the moon lit when it is a gibbous moon than when it is a crescent moon, so it does seem bigger. Save
it isn't the sun is 450000 times brighter than the moon! no..
Waxing crescent moon - The moon appears to be partly but less than one-half full
The full list: new moon - waxing crescent - first quarter - waxing gibbous - full moon - waning gibbous - last quarter - waning crescent - new moon. The first quarter is the breakpint, but it can be a bit bigger or a lot bigger depending on the reference point in the 7-day waxing crescent phase.
It is called a crescent, and if it is growing, it's called a waxing crescent, otherwise, it's a waning crescent. So, when less than half is facing the earth, it is called a Waning Cresent
A gibbous moon is a phase of the moon where the illuminated half is greater than the dark half but it is not full. The opposite of a gibbous moon is known as a crescent moon.
A waxing crescent is anywhere after New Moon but before First Quarter Moon. "Waxing" means getting bigger, "crescent" means a sliver that's less than half. "Gibbous" is anything AFTER half but less than full OR after full yet more than half.
Venus is much brighter than Mars. Only the Moon and the Sun are brighter than Venus.
The moon appears brighter at night than during the daytime because the level of outdoor illuminance is less than that of the moon.
