∙ 10y agoNo, just a Comunidad Autónoma. However, it is worth noting that unlike the United States, not all Comunidades Autónomas are equally subjected to federal scrutiny. In particular, País Vasco, literally Basque Country, is far more independent than most other Comunidades other than Cataluña. This would make it almost a country within a country.

∙ 11y agoThere is not actually a country named "Basque". Instead, it is an area of land that encompasses the northern part of Spain and the southern part of France. While the area does function as if it were a country, it is not yet independent.
