Well its not that new and if you really wanted a palm phone that's sort of cheap i would advise getting the 750wx instead of the 700p since the 700p has an external antennae and personally i have the 700p and most days i hate having that pesky antennae

Is the Motorola Razr V3 a better cell phone than the Palm Treo 650?

Both the Motorola Razr V3 and Palm Treo 650 have captured consumers' attention. These two phones are different in many ways. The Razr v3 is a tremendously popular cell phone (with a camera) while the Treo is a PDA Smart phone with it's own loyal Treo users. They are both classics. Further information about Motorola Razr V3 and Palm Treo 650 is available at www.MPhone.net. The Motorola Razr V3 and the Palm Treo 650 appeal to two different kinds of buyers. Razrs have broad popular appeal to individuals who care about their image. Buyers of Treo 650s are not at all shy about their Treos nor their images either. Treo users feel though that they deserve and require more than a slim cell phone. Treo users need a Smart phone because they are power users in most cases. Razr users just want a great phone that functions at an exceptionally high level and is amazingly stylish. Research and development for the Razr v3 phone was a tad out of the norm for Motorola. Most of the work was done at a downtown Chicago innovation lab known as Moto City rather than at Motorola's research and development center. Motorola sold over 12.5 million Razr v3 phones in less than a year.Razr v3 (commonly referred to as the RAZER phone) is barely half an inch thick and super light. Motorola has been markting the V3 as "Razor-thin". (It is only 13.9 mm thin. 53 mm wide, the width of a credit card, and 98 mm long, the slimmest phone ever produced). Yet the Razr is still rich in functionality. The Motorola Razr is an extremely stylish and sleek phone. It has an elegant look and cool feel. (Source:www.Mphone.net) Motorola will soon release a whole new family of Razr phones in Blue and Pink and another two versions a CDMA Razr for Verizon with EVDO and a Razr V3i with iTunes! These new models will be packed with all the great features like the original Razr v3. Motorola Razr V3 is avaible for Free(after rebate)both for Cingular and T-Mobile at www.younevercall.com.One of the defining differences between the Treo650 and the Motorola Razr (Razor phone)is in the price. The Treo 650 is almost never on sale for Free. Earthlink Wirelss has a limited Free Treo 650 offer with new service plan at http//:wireless.younevercall.com usually there is a six month wait for a mail-in on the rebate this Earthlink Free offer only has three month wait on the rebate) The Motorola Razr is a cell phone(with a camera). One can't type emails from it because it has no keyboard while the Treo 650 is a PDA with a QWERTY keyboard plus you've got Palm's fantastic operating system. So one can manage emails, and even look at the latest sales report in Excel.(Source: Mphone.net) Treo 650 for Cingular is available at www.Amazon.com for $250 after special offer and at www.AmericanCell.com for $180 after special offers. Both the Razr v3 and Treo 650 have cameras, and Bluetooth. If the palm centro has a sim card slot then it is an at&t phone (it should say that on the front) then go to an at&t retailer but if it doesn't it is most likely with sprint in which case you would have to call them to reactive the phone on a new plan.

Which is better the Treo or Blackberry?

The previous answer is ridiculous but I left it out of consideration for the misinformed individual that wrote it. Palm Treos do not run Windows OS- they run a Palm OS. There are, however, Treos that operate using Windows OS. I made the mistake of switching from a Palm Treo 755p to a BlackBerry Tour. The Treo does everything that a BlackBerry does and is much more capable, in my opinion. The touch-screen features make editing messages and retrieving information MUCH EASIER. As of late, Research In Motion (RIM) has been experiencing a number of painful service outages- email and browser services haven't been working and go out frequently (do a Google search). The fact that I bought my Treo three plus years ago and like my three-year-old model better than my new "flagship" BlackBerry Tour should speak volumes. If you've never had a Palm Treo, I'm sure you'll think your BlackBerry is just fine- but for those in the market, do yourself a favor and buy a Treo (Palm). ********* BLACKBERRY BY FAR A blackberry is better than a trio because a blackberry has internet, texting, and is very usefull to use for teachers to put all their schedules in it to keep track of. Depends, There are some good models on each. look at what you need. There are other PDA manufacturers. One of the big things to keep in mind when buying a pda is what are you using it for. The blackberry is a very well rounded device, able to sync up to 10 different email accounts to it, download additional software and apps, and to be used as a tethered modem for a laptop. It runs an OS developed by RIM ( Research in Motion) which tends to be a little less "buggy" then the windows based OS of the palm brands. Palm on the other hand is more like your traditional pda from the late 90s, meaning it is very easy to make lists on, as well as keeping a calender that syncs wirelessly with your computer. The touch screen that comes standard on a Palm is a big thumbs up as well, giving you the ability to actually "write" on the device, which speeds things up considerably

How can I fix a Palm Treo with no sound?

This applies to the Palm Treo 700p but the same problem happens to various other Treo models so I suspect the same approach can be taken for other model numbers. Symptoms: For no apparent reason, my Palm Treo 700p suddenly lost sound when I tried to make a call. I couldn't hear a dial tone or my own voice and nor could my wife when she answered her phone. I noticed that the phone did dial normally, and the speakerphone as well as sounds in other applications seemed to work fine, so I assumed I either had a software/phone glitch or my phone service provider was having system problems. The Fix: Since I bought my Treo on Craigslist pre-flashed for the MetroPCS Network I couldn't get a new one under warranty so I surfed the web and learned that many people recommended plugging in the headseat cable a couple of times. At first this didn't do anything for me, but after about five times I did get sound in the headset but not on the phone once I took it off. This confirmed to me that the problem was ear jack related. Another web suggestion was to open the Treo and resolder the ear jack ends because they're prone to breakage. This worked for me and this is how I did it: First, take out the battery. Next, you'll need a very small torx screwdriver to open the cover screws on the phone. I couldn't find one small enough even at Radio Shack so I used a slotted 1.4 mm precision screwdriver between the torx head teeth and got the screws off that way. There's a screw behind the stylus and another just under the antenna (beneath the rubber cap) then about six more around the battery/phone frame. Remove the antenna (it comes off easyly) and begin prying apart the case carefully from the antenna end (press in the sides where they clip together to free the molded clips). Then remove the back case from the phone (be careful clearing the phone jack end). You'll see the headset jack in plain view now. I didn't notice anything unusual about mine (it seemed soldered okay and all was tight) so I blasted the whole inside of my phone with a can compressed air to clean out any foreign debris (mine had a few peices of dry leaves inside). Next I checked the jack area carefully. Like I said, it looked soldered fine but I could see the gold ends of the jack sitting on the solder spots but not covered-over in solder. I wondered if this might be causing a bad connection by laying on solder resign more than actual solder so I got out my solder iron with a pointy nib and the skinniest solder wire I had and soldered a tiny dab of solder on each end of the earphone jack (only on the circuit board). Then I cleaned out the earjack area with a sewing needle and blew more compressed air. I wasn't if sure this was over-kill, but hey, might as well be thorough right? Next, I put together the phone and turned it on. Not only did I get my dial tone back and could hear my own voice, but I could even hear a faint blimp as I jumped around the application options that I never noticed before. My wife could also hear me speaking and I could hear her fine. A very satisfying outcome indeed! I'm still not sure if re-soldering the ends of the earpiece jack did the trick or maybe just cleaning out the phone with compressessed air was what was needed (maybe dust build-up around the earphone jack causes trouble), or perhaps having the battery out for an hour did trick. Whatever the case, this worked for me. Good luck.
