Yes I think there is. Only don't look for it in vocabulary. It's more of a substratum. Take the fact that in English it's possible to do without 'yes' and 'no' and use phrases like 'I do' and 'I don't' instead. This is exactly what happens in Welsh where are no words for yes and no. In Continental langauges however there is no choice but to say plain simple yes or no. Is this co-incidence? I think not
