The question was ''Is there death for an apostasy in Islam''. The answer is quite simply, yes. The qur'an is pretty vague on what should be done with an apostate, so Islamic scholars often debate whether the qur'an prescribes death for apostates. But the most authentic Islamic hadith's are very specific;
Bukhari, volume 9, #17
"Narrated Abdullah: Allah's Messenger said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Messenger, cannot be shed except in three cases: in Qisas (equality in punishment) for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (Apostate) and leaves the Muslims."
Bukhari, volume 9, #57
Narrated Ikrima, "Some atheists were brought to Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah's messenger forbade it, saying, "Do not punish anybody with Allah's punishment (fire)." I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah's Messenger, "Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him."
Narrated Abu Bruda, "Abu Musa said.....Behold there was a fettered man beside Abu Musa. Muadh asked, "Who is this (man)?" Abu Musa said, "He was a Jew and became a Muslim and hen reverted back to Judaism." Then Abu Musa requested Muadh to sit down but Muadh said, "I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and his messenger," and repeated it thrice. Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed. Abu Musa added, "Then we discussed the night prayers .....
Just to let you know. Im an apostate of Islam.
The Punisment Must be carried out by The Sultaan of a Islamic State Like the President or Ruler and Not by indevidual Muslims. The Proof must be made that the person has left The Religion of Islam they in some cases are given time to repent and return to the fold of Islam. But what's worst is meeting ne's Lord with other then Islam
Apostasy is forbidden in Islam. All apostates, those who chose apostasy, are the same as the unbelievers and all of them are vulnerable to the next Muslim bombing. Most Muslim scholars and jurists agree that the punishment for apostasy is death. Countries such as Iran and Saudi Arabia institute the death penalty for those who have left Islam i.e. apostates. The origin of this arbitrary and violent law is credited to Muhammad's fear of losing control over his followers. If they were to fear apostasy at the hands of death they would not question is totalitarian and irrational will.
Yes Atheism would be a sin.AdditionWorse yet in many Islamic countries apostasy carries the penalty of death.
Your question is unclear. Approximately 97% of the population are Muslims. Proselytising by other religions is prohibited. Apostasy (changing from Islam to any other religion) is punishable by death
Jewish people would call it apostasy.
Murtad is the Malaysian word for 'Apostate'. Apostasy is one's exclusion from any religion, or Atheism. It is associated with Islam and in some Muslim states is punishable by death.
Conversion from Islam to another religion is not recognized, and no data was available to assess if any such conversions took place. The legal punishment for conversion is death, although there have been no known prosecutions nor legal punishments for apostasy in court. Converts may be persuaded to return to Islam, may conceal their new faith, or may travel to another country where their conversion is recognized to avoid the social stigma of converting from Islam to another religion.
Islam is a religion not a spiritual leader. Islam is not dead.
If somebody accepts Islam without any outward compulsion, with his/her own sweet will and intention, he/she must not shun Islamic faith. There is NO Compulsion in Islam. But once accepted, after full thought, there is no turning back. Such a person is tried in the court, and if he is not willing to stick to Islam, he may be put to death.
Muslims are against the death penalty as the religion of Islam is all about peace.
No, it was religious fanaticism. Apostasy means going away from the "true religion" - that is, from whatever somebody believes to be the "true religion". Thus, apostasy might be changing from Christianity to Islam, or the other way around (depending on whom you ask). The 9/11 attacks had nothing to do with this. ********************* Some form of apostasy has been taking place since Cain rebelled against God, so any act that is contrary to the teachings of the true religion can be called a apostasy. The 9.11 cannot be called a true apostasy, though some would argue that it was as it was as it involved violence against ones fellow man. I suggest it may be called a rebellion against authority.
The Apostasy was created on 2007-07-02.
The Great Apostasy began in 1130.
