I'm not sure about dailies, but I wear the two week ones for months at a time and have had no eye trouble at all. I've done this for about 10 years and never have any problems at my check-ups. I'm sure the contact companies would tell you not to though.

∙ 11y agoIf you where one-a-day contacts too long what happens is...nothing really. If you aren't used to contacts your eyes may start to water and they may become itchy. Although one-a-day contact lenses are designed to only be worn once a day if you take care of them properly you can where them for a few days longer.

∙ 15y agoIt won't cause any serious damage, but it can give you a bad headache or make you feel dizzy or nauseous because of the lack of balance and so much strain on only one eye.

∙ 9y agoYes it is harmful to wear them for multiple days. A couple days may not harm you, but any more than that will probably begin to irritate and maybe even scratch your eyes.

But most of the time, daily contacts are a bit more expensive. I have switched to daily contacts though, because I need a fresh new pair everyday, it's worth the money for me. Since I wear makeup, makeup would get into my eyes and ruin my contacts, thats why I need daily contacts. Also, people like construction workers would probably prefer daily contacts lenses as well, due to the environment they work in.
