The oil pressure sensor is located just above the starter solenoid. If you were looking at the engine, from the front of the van, this would be on the right side of the engine.
You should see a connector with only one wire in it, a Tan wire with a Black "tracer" stripe.
I hope this helps, Greg
dirt in the speed snsor bad speedo head in the dash
heres what i would do: i would set the cars temperature to 50 and take out the battery and then let it sit for about 2-5 minutes.
that generally means you need to replace the cam positioning snsor
Bank 2 is the drivers side of your engine , Sensor 1 is in the exhaust before the catalytic converter ( upstream )
the cam positioning sensor is located on the front of the engine block, above the harmonic balance pulley. easiest to get at this from underneath the vehicle, and to change the snsor, nothing else needs to be removed to get at it.
your car has a loe ide snsor switch 49.00 at autozone I replaced mine at it cleared up the problem
Have you got a Chilton's or Hanes manual for the car? That would be my best suggestion, is to find one of those books. It will tell you whatever you need to know. Good Luck :) -Matt coolant sender switch is located in the hoses at the rear of the engine.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.Remove the air cleaner housing.Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor harness connector.Remove the retaining bolt and the crankshaft position sensor.Reverse procedure to reinstall. Are the Crankshaft sensor and the Crank snsor the same? Please let me know?
On a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis : Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine Sensor 1 would be in the exhaust close to the engine before the exhaust enters the catalytic converter ( upstream sensor )
the speed sensor is located on the trans housing. there is a cable that runs from the firewall to the transmission and goes into the speed sensor. there is a clip in the speed sensor at the end of the cable. pull the clip and the cable should come right out. than use a 10mm socket at the end of an extensiona dn unbolt it. there is only one bolt. after you poull the bolt out than lift up on the speed snsor and there you go. good luck.
fault with brake sys, park the car, have it running turn wheel hard right then left to it limits until the light comes on if the wheel was turned left take off the front left wheel check your abs sensor wires and the ets sys behind the hub the snsor could be dirty or the wires loose, had same prob that's what a friend at gm said to do for me to fix mine yours my be similar or same problem
Oxygen Sensor There are actually (4) O2 sensors on your truck. If you look inside the wheel wells behind the fender liner, right about where the frame is one O2 sensor, the other is underneath the truck about half way back in relation to the transmission. IF you see where the exhaust joints together, you went about 6" too far. When you start looking at the O2 sensors, they are normally numbered something like "Bank 1 Sensor 1" Bank 1 is on the passenger side; Bank 2 is on the driver's side. Sensor 1 is the upstream sensor (near the frame, between the block and the cat) and Sensor 2 is near the Y-pipe (downstream of the cat). Normally it is the upstream sensors (sensor 1) that go first. They see the harshest conditions.
