check the fuse and the park lamp relay
The check engine lamp has absolutely NOTHING to do with the VA safety inspection
In Massachusetts you cannot pass inspections with your engine light on.
In NJ your car will fail inspection if the light is on. In fact, your car will fail inspection up to 200 miles after you have the car serviced due to a problem that resulted in the service engine light being on. I had the service engine light on because of a faulty gas cap. I had the car serviced and then a day later took it to inspection. The car failed because the computer had not reset itself. I was told to come back after driving the car 200 miles because it often takes that long for the computer to show that everything is working fine.
Of course not, the problem must be fixed.
There is many parts involved in an auto inspection. Most require clean emmissions and working lights, blinkers and engine componets.
Service B on a Mercedes E220 is a procedure that is done to conduct various inspections. Some areas that are covered include cooling system inspection, brake inspection and engine oil replacement.
Check your gas cap. The check engine light may come on if the gas cap isn't on tight enough. As for whether a car can pass inspection in Maine this way, I do not know.
you should have your engine checked out to make sure everything is working well
if the number is going down (-3475 4.. 3..) you need an engine service in 3475 miles, but if it's increasing you are 3475 miles passed your last engine service
First diagnos the problem(whats wrong). Did the "check engine"light come on? Failed smog inspection? "service engine soon"light driveability problems? engine pinging bad gas mileage no power/performance? Need more info. First diagnos the problem(whats wrong). Did the "check engine"light come on? The schematic for an 83 Chevy 305 engine can be found in the service manual. It gives the location of each component and how everything is connected.
Needs an inspection now!
