When I was dating an abusive guy I thought I wanted out but I could never get up enough courage to actually get out so I let it continue. When we finally broke up I missed him like crazy. I think it is because you get so used to it that when you don't have it anymore you think you need it. You aren't used to being treated well so you want something you are used to. I know that's how I felt.
