Best Answer

Cockney has been looked down as inferior by many, being percieved as less friendly and trustworthy, less intelligent and less hardworking.

However in a survey of 2000 cockney was voted joint 5th coolest accent in Britain and also it can be positively viewed as straight forward.

Since 1909 it has been accepted as a variation of the english language rather than an inferior one.
