Bright mild steel is an alloy. It is usually used to make hammer heads and shears, and it has a smooth, but tough surface.
very common,cheap,strong and heavy
In mild steel there are negligeble alloying elements which has no effect on physical & chemical properties of MS. On the other hand due to alloying elements [ Ni & Cr ] oxidation is avoided.
cheapest material is Mild steel having very good properties of shaft.
Mild steel, not copper.
steel is the alloy of iron and carbon , so mild steel is an ferrous alloy
Iron is the pure element, mild steel, or any steel is iron with a little bit of carbon added. The iron becomes mild steel, steel or any other type of steel depending on how much carbon is added to the iron.
yes of course
Cast iron is more brittle then mild steel
very common,cheap,strong and heavy
See the related link for mechanical properties of various grades of steel.
EN8 is a genereal purpose high strength steel for applications that require additional strength and superior tensile properties to normal bright mild steel ammechengg@gmail.com
Mild steel is a fairly general classification and can cover a considerable variation in material properties. Cold drawn grades in particular will have a higher tensile strength than hot rolled. Something like 400 MPa for yield stress and 500 MPa for ultimate tensile strength is quite common.
mild and high tensile steel can not be combined, because of there different chemical and physical properties as structural component, p k sharma
One can purchase mild steel in the UK from the following sources: The Metal Store, Parker Steel, Steel Web, eBay, K Steels, Midland Bright Steels, Metals 4 U.

depends on what you are looking for e.g. quality, heat treated, mechanical properties
