Why are electronics in school bad?

No, kids should not bring in electronics to school unless they are instructed to do so by their teacher or another member of staff, for a number of reasons. Primarily, personal property can be easily lost or stolen. Should this happen, the student would be very disappointed and the school would not be able to help. Students bring personal property on school premisses at their own risk, and should be aware that their items have the potential to be lost or stolen. Second, electronic devices disrupt the learning process if they are used within school hours. For these reasons, electronic devices should not be brought to school, or if necessary, should be off and stowed away until after school hours.

No because: they shouldn't because they are a distraction and you can use it for cheating on tests. Also because it can get you in trouble and your grades can go down. It is also a big distraction and can lead to cyber bullying. cell phone slang can also lead to bad grammar habbits.

Yes because: if something bad happens in school kids can contact their parents so the parents know they are okay. Also, I know I only got my cell for safety rasons and they are rarely a distraction in schools. They are also good to update parents on after school activities,(etc.)

Yes, i think they should be able to only if the students deserve this occasion.

I as well agree that children should be able to use Ipads in school. Having technology like the Ipad especially if the whole classroom is involved can greatly expand the learning opportunities. Instead of looking at simply a picture of a planet, the children in the classroom could carefully explore a 3D model of the planet and have almost endless information about it right there at their finger tips. Having something so exciting and engaging as a 3D model would be far more learning conducive as opposed to a text book. If you really think about it, the Ipad could run programs that could make any subject of school interesting. With this great learning expansion comes also great risk though. Misconduct in the use of technology in the schools would have to be closely moderated. Children could easily get distracted by the Ipads many features, which would take away from their learning experience. If managed properly though, the Ipad offers endless education possibilities.
