Imaginary. Stars shine pretty constantly until they die, and their deaths are often spectacular. But they don't "wink".
Perhaps you meant "twinkle", in which case they're just stars. The twinkling effect is caused by atmospheric disturbances, and it rather famously doesn't happen to planets, since even though you can't easily tell by eye, they aren't effectively point sources as seen from Earth.
Or then again, perhaps you meant "blink", as happens with pulsars.
I think that I know what this question means. The answer's "eclipsing binaries".
Such binary systems (with short periods) are said to "wink", especially if one of
the stars is much brighter than the other. A famous example is "Algol".
The Earth's atmosphere, which is always moving, makes stars appear to be twinkling.
A star that really is 'winking' is most likely an eclipsing binary star - two stars orbiting each other.
As a small/young child, the stars that wink would be called 'twinkling stars'.
an eclipsing binary pair

Baby sea stars are larva.
The seven stars are called the Big Dipper or the Plow.
Two stars that are gravitationally bound to each other are sometimes called "binary stars".
Stars sit around and wink because they had the bag from the cat and now they are stars so they are in trouble and they sit around and wink
it has something to do with the gasses in space or something like that..... c: 2nd Answer: Since there are practically no gasses in space, we can say that twinkling stars is caused by looking at them through the Earth's constantly moving atmosphere. Or, they could be eclipsing binary stars. (Two stars orbiting each other.)
no, but a car called a buffalo is VERY close to it (wink wink, nudge nudge)
By saying Wink Wink :D
This is called the nictitating membrane. "Nictitate" is a somewhat contrived word meaning "wink" but is derived from a Latin word nictare meaning to connive - as in "wink, wink, nudge, nudge".
