I had this ame problem and was told I neeed a new instrument cluster or a rebuilt one-- did some research and found out that you can replace the individual stepper motors for all the gauges yourself ( and it is not hard at all) these motors OEM correct ones new edition are available on Ebay for $5.00 apeice and they soder into the dash module with 4 feet.-- if you get the ones off eBay the seller actually shows you how to recalbrite these motors after they are installed.
about 2 hous of your time and save anywhere form $200 to $600.00 and shipping time and cost ( new cluster from Chevy( $600.00) after i installed these new stepper motors for $5.00 each--- everythiung was fine. check speedo cal. with GPS --right on. good luck
Find a road with a "measured mile" and check it.
There is no cable, the speedo is run electronically.
There is no speedometer cable anymore, it's all electronic.
This question is very wide. But, I would suspect the speed sensor.
I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier and there was an electrical problem in the dashboard. I had to have someone pull the entire thing out and re-wire--it cost me about $400.00. It started with my speedometer going out and then my rpm went out and so on. My mechanic told me that Chevy should have recalled this but didn't....
i had a ford car that did that and it was the alternater
Yes
firing order for Chevy cavalier
Does Chevy cavalier have front shocks
No it will not blow your engine or tranny up it has nothing to do with either of them. The thing to look for is if a speed sensor is out.
If both the speedometer and the odometer work on and off, I would blame the vehicle speed sensor. If only the speedometer is acting up, I would blame the cluster.
how to i put it at on the Chevy cavalier 2.2 l
