Domain name system is an application layer service . DNS provides mapping between addresses and names . DNS is what maps URL to the Addresses .
RARP (Reverse Address Resolution Protocol) maps layer 2 addresses to layer 3 addresses. ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) maps layer 3 addresses to layer 2 addresses.

The Google Maps application comes comes installed on all Android phones and can be downloaded from the iOS App Store. If one is on a computer there isn't an application as Google Maps is a website.
Google Maps like Google Earth may appear to be real-time (or live) in that the Street View and satellite imagery may appear very recent but it's often many months old and sometimes years old.However, Google Maps does provide a near real-time traffic layer. Check 'Traffic' layer in Google Maps.

Google Maps or really any Maps application is really good for this sort of thing. From what I can tell (I got driving directions on Google Maps), it's 539 miles from Kalispell to Tacoma.
If you have a smart phone you can use the Google Maps application to get a map of the area. Information centrals or hotels and motels are also possible places to find maps of the area
If Google Maps crashes or fails to work properly then refreshing the web page will often restart Google Maps in most cases. If a refresh doesn't work then restarting the web browser or client Google Maps application should be sufficient. Third option is to clear the browser cache.
