Here is something I have been wondering.

why are the eyes called mirror of the soul ?

I'm sure everyone here have experienced looking in someones eyes and getting strange feelings...sometimes eyes are cold as ice and sometimes they are deep and dark etc.. list goes on.

but why is that so ?

and don't tell me it's biochemical reaction.

I would like to hear what you guys think about this.

The eyes are the windows to the soul?

Eyes are not so much windows into a person's "soul" (if you can define what that is), as they are a means of determining how an individual is feeling, if they're telling the truth, if they're guilty, lying, earnest, etc. Our eyes are very good at betraying our emotions to others and play a key role in face-to-face communication. So, do I think eyes are the windows into a person's spiritual soul? No. But we can come to consensus that how a person looks (with their eyes) can tell us an awful lot about who they are in the moment. Taking that into consideration, a individual skilled in reading "eyemotions" could conceivably "look into your soul", metaphorically speaking.

Are blue eyes cute?
