2n
or 2 x n
because if you cut it one time it will be two slices (1 x 2)
it you cut it two times it will be four slices (2 x 2)
''----------------
I am afraid that's not correct. Based on the above for 3 cuts, n=3 and number of slices would be 3x2=6, which is not the correct answer. If the the third cut intersects both the previous cuts at dfifferent points, you would get 7 slices.
And if you make a fourth cut in such a way that it intersects previous cuts at different points, you would get 11 slices. (Now slices may be crumb sized, that is a different matter, but mathematically that is the max slices you could make!!)
In general, maximum number of slices with n cuts would be (n^2 + n + 2)/2
the answer is twelve pieces
If you want an even-sized pieces, you can make a 7-slice pizza. Otherwise, the maximum is 22. (.5x^2 + .5x + 1 is the formula to determine the maximum number of slices if you use "x" cuts.) twelve
The Rule for this would be: (n2 + n + 2)/2 so: (72 + 7 + 2)/2 =(49 + 7 + 2)/2 =(58)/2 =29 29 is the answer.
4 quarters, 4 pieces.
the number of pieces available / the number of pieces in totale.g.in a box there are 8 pizzas.8/8= 1
8
an infinite number
The largest number of pieces is 10. Each time you cut it across you divide the pizza into 2. dividing it by 2, 5 times gives us 10.
6 if cut like a normal pizza and 3 if cut without overlapping
3/4
i think a normal person has at least 100 pieces of pizza a year.
I guess because fractions represent a PART of the whole number. Let's use a pizza for an example: You have a WHOLE pizza that you want to cut and share with your friends. How do you know how many pieces you will need to cut it into? By counting yourself and your friends and then dividing the pizza into that many pieces. Assume you and five friends are sharing ONE pizza; you would cut the pizza into six pieces so each will eat one-sixth of the pizza. In this way, fractions represent the numbers that help us share.
