A concerto in Baroque period has three contrasting movements as fast, slow and fast. In the classical period, a minuet and trio was added in between the second and third movements. Beethoven later changed it to scherzo and trio.
Classical Symphonies are composed of four movements. The typical tempo structure of these movements would be to begin with a fast tempo, then change to a slow tempo in the second movement. The third movement would be a dance in a medium to fast tempo, and the final movement is in a fast tempo.
Do you homework yourself, this is right off a test question for f's sake
Most pieces were quite fast in the romantic era.
Movement 1= Fast
Movement 2=Slow
Movement 3=Fast, and lively!

How can you define best? Loudest, fastest, shortest, newest?-Depending on your personal interpretation of Mahler, here are some choices:Sir George Solti- Chicago Symphony-Faster than most, accents and articulations are VERY strongly emphasizedRaphael Kublik - Bavarian Radio Symphony-Fairly good tempo, clean, not always as emphatic but very musicalAlan Balter - Akron Symphony-Tempo is moderately slow but has Fairly good articulation style.
Beethoven's most famous symphony was his fifth and ninth.
The average symphony length is around 20-23 minutes long. This was a common length during the Classical and Romantic eras. For each composer it differs as well. I'm just giving a major estimate. Contemporary symphonies for example have drifted away from the common standard length. There is a symphony written by Dr. Michael Wolters lasting a mere 25 seconds including all four movements. The Mahler 3rd symphony lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes! There is a huge difference between the two. Most Haydn symphonies lasted 15-20 minutes like most Classical ones. Beethoven broke the barrier with his 9th symphony which was over an hour when played at the correct tempo. There are many symphonies lasting different amounts of time but overall I'd say the average symphony is 20-23 minutes long with all of it's movements.
Beethoven's last symphony was his Symphony no. 9 in d minor (Op. 125), known as the "Choral" Symphony. However, the final--and most famous--movement of this work is known as the "Ode to Joy."

A typical day is a day at work that's alike all the rest of the days. This meaning the tempo or normal activities that take place most of the time is what's happening again on a typical day.

It is Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 3. The first movement is about 33 minutes. The symphony itself is almost 100 minutes.
Experimentation with form and structure, a focus on individual experience and perception, and a rejection of traditional literary conventions are most typical of the Modernist approach in literature.
