Potential energy is a stored energy due to the gravity and height above the ground. In physics the formula for potential energy is:
PE = mgy
where m = mass (kg), g = acceleration due to gravity (m/s^2), y = height (m)
What if there is no height?
Well, by simply letting y = 0 and multiplying 0 to m and g, we get PE = 0. Therefore potential energy does not exist and shows it is only present when the object has a height above the ground.
The stored energy of things that are high up is officially known as gravitational potential energy.
Potential gravitational energy
Gravitational potential energy
Gravitational Potential Energy
It has knectic energy.
kinetic energy
Yes and no. When the ball is at its highest point, it is storing potential energy. when it is moving back down, the potential energy turns into kinetic energy, and so forth. But when the ball is done bouncing, it doesn't technically "store" energy.
Yes. When u use the word potential energy,it means stored energy. A water being hold in the dam above ground contains stored gravitational potential energy.
Seriously -.-' First of all When You throw The Basketball it is going up^ Which is Kinetic energy when is comes down and STOPS it is Potential energy. Oh And this question is in the 6th grade science textbook! The orange textbook....so yeah. BYe
When the object with the potential energy is released. For example, if you hold a lead ball in your hand at shoulder height it has potential energy. As soon as you release it from your hand its potential energy will begin to be converted to kinetic energy.
Hold a rock in the air ... it has potential energy. Drop it ... the potential energy will be converted into kinetic energy. It hits the ground and stop ... the kinetic energy will be converted into thermal energy. Note that the total energy in each case is the same.
Potential, changing to kinetic when you release it and it falls.

You can hold the ball above your head at any time in the match with both hands.

The potential energy stored between the book and the Earth when you hold it is gravitational potential energy. This energy is due to the gravitational force between the book and the Earth, with the book being at a height above the ground. When you release the book, this potential energy converts to kinetic energy as the book falls towards the Earth.
no, kinetic energy is the energy below so if u hold a ball up in the air it has most potential energy but if u drop the ball the potential energy goes down and the kinetic energy goes up.
hold x then press << and hold while holding x
Just hold it and right click (above ground)
hold the ball above your chest with both hands then pass
transmission line tower
If I remember correctly, you hold A and B and throw the ball.
