traditionally, the youngest child opens their present first
As far as I know there is no tradition. It probably depends on the family. You can try giving each child a present and they all open them at the same time. Or whoever you find a present for first under the tree gets to open it and go from there. Or if you want one child to open at a time and want it to be totaly fair, draw names or pick numbers the night before to see who gets to open first. And then every year rotate. Whoever was second will be first next year, and who was first will be last, etc. Or draw names or pick numbers every year. Those are great ways in my family we go in an order from youngest to oldest .
Traditionally they are opened on Christmas Day. Some people may open some on Christmas Eve but there is no particular time to do so.
Ah, what a delightful question! There are no hard and fast rules about who should open the first Christmas present. It's all about spreading joy and love, so feel free to take turns, play a fun game, or choose someone special to kick off the gift-giving festivities. Just remember, the true gift of Christmas is being together and celebrating the spirit of giving.
Some families open presents from oldest to youngest as a symbol of respect towards elders. Others go from youngest to oldest going by the "youths are our future" saying.
A pickle
It depends. It's really up to the family, my family never open presents on Christmas Eve but I have a friend whose family open half on Christmas Eve and half on Christmas Day. it all depends on you and your family, really. There is no right or wrong answer.
I/You/We/They open. He/She/It opens. The present participle is opening.
Some people open one gift on Christmas Eve and some don't. Whatever your family does is what you need to do.
On Christmas day is the day that you traditionally open your gifts.
They open their Christmas presents traditionally on the 24th of December.
"Open" is already in the present tense.
