St. Christopher is one of the legendary saints of the Catholic faith. He may or may not have really existed as there is virtually nothing known about him except for the traditional legends passed down for nearly 2000 years. About 40-50 years ago the Church removed him from its official Calendar of Saints. The Church is not saying he is not a saint. They simply say there is not enough evidence for his existence and his life of heroic virtue.
