GOOD: - it gave us some time to prepare for an inevitable war, because if you think about it WW2 was just 21 years after the end of the first - so many could still remember the loss of a whole generation, and would do anything for prevention of another one.

- many of our equipment was out of date and need updating, plus we were not prepared for war at all, so gave us extra time to get ready.

- alliances needed to be made

- plus we didn't know appeasement would not prevent another war

- we thought Hitler would soon be satisfied after re militarising the Rhineland, annexation of Austria and Czechoslovakia.

BAD:

- it gave Hitler confidence. Hitler had told his generals before the went to re militarise the Rhineland that they were to pull out if there was any resistance by the French or British. But there wasn't so it automatically showed Hitler that Britain and France were hoping to avoid war at all costs so he knew he could push them. shown with how we practically gave Hitler Czechoslovakia at a conference where the checks were not even present - we decided the fate of their country for them to avoid war....

- It highlighted the weakness of Britain, France etc. and showed how unprepared they were for war.

- it just allowed Hitler to grow stronger - such as giving him check which had extensive industry, whilst Austria had a large fighting force.
