No, of course not. Some people like to pretend that Titanic and Olympic changed places so that Olympic could be sunk on purpose. But remodeling and renewing Olympic to pass as Titanic would be a tremendous job, and messing up Titanic to pass as the slightly older Olympic would be utterly ridiculous. A perfect job would have to be done... remember, a lot of rich folks knew Olympic, and could easily tell her and the brand-new Titanic apart.

It is also a good idea to remember that insurance fraud by sinking a ship on purpose, was and is an extremely major crime, as is mass murder. The fact that a large number of the people they would be murdering were rich, and their relatives would want to get even, should be taken into account. Even if there had been a conspiracy, and it was somehow successful, the reputation of the White Star Line would be destroyed, which actually happened. They had to sell out to Cunard.
