I was there. Muddy Waters was the opening act. People crowded the stage. The police announced that the performance would stop and that Sly would not come on if the crowd did not move back. Bottles were thrown and a battle ensued between the police and a portion of the crowd. The police ended up opening fire and injuring several rioters. That sent a large panicked crowd fleeing into downtown Chicago
