Yes, in Jacksonville, FL. It was opened in May of 1914 in the Springfield area of Jacksonville, with the donation of a Red Deer fawn. There were more donations and the Monkey Island was developed. In 1925 the "Municipal Zoo", as it was known then, was moved to it's current location on Trout River. For more details, please see the sites listed below.
