Was there anything strange about Edgar Allan Poe?

Both of his parents were actors who died when he was two or three, I believe. He lived most of his life in poverty, borrowing money when he could from his foster father. He married his thirteen year old cousin, Virginia, who died of tuberculosis (as did his mother). It is believed that he probably abused alcohol and drugs. The cause of his death remains disputed; no one is, in fact, really sure about how he died. He was taken to a hospital when two of his friends found him in a delirious state wandering the streets of Baltimore.
