"Red Baron" was the name of a person not a plane. His first all-red plane was an Albatros D-III. The Fokker D-VII triplane was built in early 1917 and he and Werner Voss were given one of the early prototypes. Both of these crashed; Voss was shot down and the other prototype had a wing failure when another ace was flying it. It wasn't later that he flew an all-red triplane.
