I'm in year 8 now; I have to decide what GCSEs to take at the start of year 9. I'm really interested (and good at) science and maths; I would like to have a career in that. I'm also looking at working with computer or government. I already have to do: English, English literature, maths, Biology, chemistry, physics, French, Italian and FBCs (basically RS). I need to pick 3 more out of: ICT, psychology, business studies, Latin, classic civilizations, drama, music, art, economics, history, geography, PE, food technology, electronics, resistant materials, textiles and graphics. I'm mainly looking at: business studies, psychology, ICT and economics. What should I do?

7-8 is average, some schools will go in for up to 10. Usually kids with insanely high numbers of GCSEs do them out of school, or do them early. In some cases they speak a foreign language at home, so its easy for them. I wouldn't worry too much about the number of GCSEs you take, just make sure that you get good grades. Universities look to make offers based off your A levels anyway. For more information see How many GCSEs link.
Well, A-level is the more advanced, being taken at college or sixth form, afetr your GCSEs. However, your GCSEs are also important, as both employers and universities take your GCSE and A levels into consideration. It is common to take around 10 GCSEs and 3-4 Alevels.
You can go to college and take your GCSE's there.
French students have the equivalent of the GCSEs.
You Should Take Drama Maybe Dancee Music Art As They All Affect Drama
You should do English Language and English Literature.
You need at least 4 A-Cs and science is useful
GCSE's are rather challenging and should be approached with a positive attitude. Bagshad :)
