First of all, your choice in Denon will help you. I own a Denon avr-2808ci. From your specs you are running 50 watts per speaker at 8 ohms. This in the end will lead you to what you want to purchase. If you are listening to music (primarily) then you cannot go wrong with a pair of Bowers and Wilkins 684 speakers. They are great for music, provide great high volume response, and are good looking. This option, however, will be on the more expensive range, and they are tower speakers (stand around 3.5' tall. The two speakers will cost around $1100 together, and that is before tax and speaker wire expenses. With a high quality brand like Denon, the speakers do not need to be as high end as B&W to sound great. I ran my Denon with an old set of Yamaha surround sound speakers that were 300 with the Yamaha receiver. So in the end, I really haven't given you an answer, just a suggestion. You can walk into any Best Buy and get what you need/want, and if you are looking to spend more you can go on Best Buy's Magnolia site, or go to a location with Magnolia and find a set of great speakers.
No, the Boston Acoustic MCS95 is a speaker system that is bundled with the Denon AVR-591 receiver. All the speakers are connected with speaker cables (except the sub, which uses a RC line cable) and are not wireless.
There are no surround modes that quickly turn off the subwoofer, center channel and surround back speakers, but leave the surround speakers (side) speakers on. You will need to go into the System Setup -> Sp 2. In 3.0p -> Speaker Setup menu to select Center Speaker 'None', Surround Speaker ('Large' or 'Small'), Surround Back Speaker 'None' and Subwoofer 'No'. If you have a subwoofer and want sound to come out of the all of the speakers when you are listening to a non-surround source such as a CD, use the 5CH/7CH Stereo DSP simulation.
Denon have developed a reputation over the years for turning out good quality, reliable and sensibly priced audio equipment. They build equipment for domestic and professional use and they are well respected by users and engineers alike. There is always a better quality unit around, if you want to spend more money and there is always something far cheaper if you want to save money. Denon is usually a good buy and represents very good value for money. Unless you are looking for the most expensive top end models, Denon are always well worth considering.
i just bought a pair for $15. they are in bad condition and need some love. a good condition set would sell for around $30 probably no more than that. if you are considering buying them...don't...unless you have at least a 10 band equalizer. the super highs are really loud! and the higher end mids are lacking. They sound quite foggy without an equalizer and the high end stands out a lot! hope this helps.
If you are looking for a wireless speaker that can stream music through Wi-Fi, has the ability to play music in different rooms with multi-room sound system, and produces the stereo sound effect - then HEOS wireless speakers are truly the best. San (as in sand) dra (as in drat)Some German speakers also pronounce it with a Z, as in "Zahn-drah".
Some where in the 7.1 receiver there is a menu for speaker setup. Set this for the number for speakers you have and how they are arranged around the room. My Denon even ask for the size of each speaker (large or small). and if you are using a sub woofer or not.
Having one in quite good condition and with the original box and literature, I believe I paid about $500 CDN for this unit back in 1989. I had just graduated from college and started working (had to spend my money on the essential items first).
I have some Polk Audio LS70 Floor Speakers and a CS350 Center. I love them but I'm a bit cramped for space. I had been considering getting some high end in-wall speakers but I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. I have a Denon 5800 receiver so I need something that will deliver
